Keep your Tonik Space password secure
If you have reason to believe your email account may have been compromised, then you must change your password immediately.
Personal credentials such as your usernames and passwords, can be stolen directly from you by criminals using tricks such as phishing emails. They can also be stolen by hackers from the services you use, if they suffer a data breach.
If you suspect either has happened, you should change your password as soon as possible (here’s a useful article on that topic: ‘How to reset my password’).
If you have used the same password on any other accounts, you should change it there too.
To choose a strong password
- Use a different password for Tonik Space than what you use on other websites.
- Use at least 8 characters. Make your password hard to guess. For more information on how to keep your password & email safe. You can also check out the national Cyber Security Centre’s ’Top tips for staying secure online’.
- Please try to avoid passwords that are easy to guess. These include passwords such as "secret," "password," or "123456” or words like your name, e-mail address, or other personal information that can easily be obtained.
Tip: adding numbers or special characters to your password will make it even stronger. For example, the password "apple8!@" is a much stronger password than "apples".
Note: Passwords are case sensitive. For instance, "APPLE8!@" and "apple8!@" are two different passwords. When choosing a password, remember the capitalisation you use, and make sure that the CAPS LOCK key on your keyboard is not turned on.
To protect your password
It is important to change it periodically and keep it private, since anybody who knows your password may access your account.
If you feel that your password has been disclosed to a malicious source; you can change your password by logging into your Tonik Space account and choosing ‘Change my Password.’
If your Tonik Space password has been changed without your knowledge; please use the ‘Don’t remember your password?’ link in the <Login page> to reset your password & make your account secure again.
