In order to achieve the fantastic value from Home & Smart EV, you need to charge your EV at night (between midnight and 7am). Not only does this ensure you’ll charge your car at a cheaper rate and therefore cost you less overall to ‘fuel’ your EV, but this is normally the time when there are less fossil-fuels powering the electricity grid, so you will be helping there as well.
To be sure, make sure you set your charger or car schedule to start charging after midnight, you can over-ride this any time you like, but our install team will show you how when they install your home charger.
It is important you don’t turn off your wi-fi or any connectivity being used to communicate with your home charging solution. If your home charger becomes disconnected, then we won’t be able to receive charging data and therefore cannot calculate Home & Smart EV. If this happens, you will then be charged at your normal home energy tariff until your home charging solution is reconnected.
