When a meter reading does not match the expected reading of a property, we use an estimate read instead.
Every property has an expected usage. When the meter reading provided by you does not match up to that expected usage, we question that read. This might happen when you enter reads by mistake or when you have read from the wrong meter.
In some cases, we might ask you to send a photo of the meter reading to double check the read. In cases of a recent meter replacement or a drastic change in the household power usage might make a correct read seem too far off from the expected usage.
